On July 1, 2024, SGS President Lamont Norwood was elected to serve as the Vice President of the Towson-Catonsville Alumni Kappa Charitable Foundation.

The foundation is a dedicated philanthropic organization committed to enriching the lives of youth, the elderly, and families in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. Through a variety of community programs and projects, the foundation provides vital support and resources, fostering growth, development, and well-being across the community. The foundation's initiatives aim to address the unique needs of different groups, promoting education, health, and social welfare to create a positive and lasting impact.

On October 29th, 2022 on the campus of the University of Maryland Baltimore County the Towson - Catonsville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi’s Social Action Committee hosted the Men’s Health Care Matters - Prostate Cancer Roundtable. The event began with State Senator Charles Sydnor giving words of encouragement. The Doctors and Nurses of Ascension St Agnes and the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GMBC) Hospitals presented information that was not only powerful but also helpful. COVID - 19 Vaccine and Mental Health Town Hall Towson - Catonsville (MD) Alumni Association of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Inc

On May 15th, 2021, the Towson - Catonsville (MD) Alumni Association of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Inc. presented its first webinar. The Covid-19 town hall event explored the issues of COV-19 from both clinical and mental health perspectives. It also addressed the concerns and anxiety of the vaccine in minority and underserved communities. CEO of SGS Joined His Fraternity Brothers In A GET OUT THE VOTE (GOTV) Campaign

Lamont Norwood, CEO of SGS joined his fraternity brothers of the Eastern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraterninty Inc on October 31, 2020, in a GET OUT THE VOTE (GOTV) Motorcade with Several other organizations. There were over fifty vehicles decorated with signs and balloons, encouraging the Prince Georges County residents to VOTE. The GOTV Campaign, NAACP, DC Change Makers, LGBTQ Dignity Project, Krystal Oridaha, Live After Release, Jazz Lewis, and the Prince Georges County Police Department were the other organizations that joined in this effort. Prince Georges County's State's Attorney Aisha N. Braveboy was in attendance and joined by several county elected officials.

SGS's President Volunteers at Grace AME Church in Catonsville's Community Health Fair

On September 21, 2019 Lamont Norwood assisted Grace AME Church in Catonsville, Maryland with a community health fair. The health fair included the following services, Zumba, Cancer Education, Nutritional Tips, Blood Pressure Screening, Diabetes Education, Cardiovascular Disease Education, Legal Advice, Podiatry Consultation, and Colon Cancer Prevention and Consultation.

This health fair targeted underserved areas in Catonsville, but all were welcomed to attend. Many residents took advantage of this opportunity to learn how to take charge of their health.
